Vocational Training
With the generous help of the United Way of Brazoria County, we offer a job training program to build the Angels’ skill sets and help them raise their own support and earn a paycheck. The Angels package candy, crush aluminum cans, scoop delicious garden mint leaves into teabags, separate pecans from shells, package hygiene packs, and much more to give routine and purpose to each day. Our favorite vocational activity is the weekly concession store Tea & Treats right on the campus of the Forgotten Angels day program. Customer service, money handling, inventory, and job expectations are all skills learned with great on-the-job training!
Our local Forgotten Angels Resale Shop hires about 25 of the Angels who, with the help of a job coach, learn to sort donations, maintain stores and greet the customers. Many Angels have received the first paycheck of their lives through the MOVE program; we love to see them work!
